Announcements for March 2017

Evening Meditation Session - The March session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, 2017, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Temple sanctuary.


Spring Higan Service - The Spring Higan Service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, starting at 1:30 p.m.


Fujinkai Workshop - The Fujinkai’s March crafts workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., in the Temple’s social hall.  There is no charge for the workshop, so everyone is invited to attend.  And the Fujinkai serves tasty refreshments!


Special Prayer Service - The Enmei-Jizobosatsu Special Prayer Service, for seniors long life, career/vocational enhancement opportunities, and safe pregnancy/birth of children, is scheduled for Sunday, March 26, 2017, starting at 1:30 p.m.  The registration fee is $15.00/person.  Click on the links to view the service flyer and registration form.  Those who register will have a special prayer performed by our minister and will receive a personalized talisman (omamori).  In order to create the personalized omamori, please submit your service application form to the Temple by Wednesday, March 22, 2017.


Upcoming Taiko Performances - The Koyasan Taiko Group has an upcoming performance scheduled for February:


Saturday, March 4, 2017 - Camellia Festival at the Memorial Auditorium.  The performance starts at 3:00 p.m.  The vent is free and open to the public.  Click on the link to see more information: https://www.camelliasocietyofsacramento.org/events.html


Friday, March 10, 2017 - Matsuyama Elementary School Cherry Blossom Festival, 7680 Windbridge Dr., Sacramento, CA  95831.  The performance starts at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

February Fujinkai Workshop - The February Fujinkai workshop featured a two-for-one class!  Temple member Betty (“Seiko”) Okimura taught attendees how to make Takuan (pickled daikon), and Janis Kobuchi taught the attendees how to make beautiful gift boxes from everyday materials like cereal boxes.  Click on the link to view pictures from the workshop.
